More about the Follo bunad

The first bunad-committee in Follo was set in 1954.  The plan was to make a bunad that could be worn in the whole "fylke" Akershus, but, Romerike had already a bunad that was approved..

The beautiful embroideries on this bunad is from a coat found in Rakkestad. This coat was from about 1750, and the whole bunad i made in so called "roccoco style".

The skirt is made in blue wool or red wool damask, the bodice in green or golden damask.

This bunad was first shown in 1970.
