More about the mans bunad from Follo
In the early 1800s the farmer Ole Helgesen on
Gaavim farm in Kroer in Ås wanted a new costume. He ordered it from one
of the local tailors. The result became the origin of this bunad.
Oddvar Bjerke was in the lead of the committee
that did the reconstruction of the costume.
The shirt is not a copy of Gaavims shirt.
Gaavims shirt was not to be found. So, the shirt is a copy of a shirt found on
Hokholt farm on Nesodden. The shirt was made from linen, grown and woven on
Hokholt.
It was first shown in 1990.
