More about the womans bunad from Lier
Ruth Strand from Lier composed this bunad, first shown in 1974. It is not made on local costumetraditions, since very few old costumes were to be found in the lower parts of Buskerud.
The bunad is inspired by Liers huge fruit-growing. Both bodice, skirt and reticule is covered in apple-blossoms, embroidered in 8 different colours on blue cloth. The shirt is made in white linen or cotton.
