Man and Woman's bunad from Nordmøre
This
beautiful picture shows the parents of a good friend of ours. Elisabeth (also
called Lisbeth) and Ole from Eide, Nordmøre. Lisbeth passed away a few
years ago, but Ole is still going strong.
Thank you to their son Jon Martin for
letting me use this picture!

About the Nordmøre bunads
Womens:
Karoline Grude started the work on making a Nordmøre bunad in 1920s.
This first bunad did not get to popular, as it did not show enough "Nordmøre"-style.
The work continued, and in 1939 the next bunad was showed to the public.
Unfortunately, this bunad burned during the war.
After the war, the work started again, and in 1949 they could
show up yet another bunad, the one that we see on the picture.
Mens:
This bunad was made by Anna Johannessen in 1922. Tradition
tells that it was drawn after old pictures and old stories from Nordmøre. The
bunad has been very popular on Nordmøre.
A new mans bunad from Nordmøre has been made. You can read
about it on
Nordmøre Ungdomslags homepage, (only in norwegian). I dont have any pictures
yet of this bunad.
