More about this costume

This costume was designed by Else Marie Bryhn and Berit Johansen in 1992.

The first drawings was made in the flowerfields at Høvikvollen. All the flowers in the embroideries on the costume are "blåveis" the norwegian national flower, and very common in the Røyken area.  The dress itself is of marine blue  wool. Umbrella, a jacket and a cape is also designed to the costume.

It is embroidered in different nuances of pink and blue. The costume is a free composition, not made from old traditional local findings.

Different silver is made for this costume. One is a copy of an old key that was found on the farm Heggen in Røyken. The key is to be hanged on the right side  - opposite from the purse.  Also three "sølje" are made, one big for the bodice, one smaller for the skirt and a small one for the neck.

Earrings, bracelets and other jewelry are also made to the costume, inspired by the "blåveis".
